Timber, unfortunately, did not survive her ordeal.
We received the results of her bloodwork last night, showing that she was suffering from acute septicemia that was not previously apparent as well as some preexisting liver damage had not yet created symptoms. With these complications amidst everything else, she passed away in her sleep overnight.
We did absolutely everything our team and veterinarians could do to save her. From the swift reaction to her injuries to providing all of the veterinary care needed (regardless of the expense) – it just wasn’t enough.
Timber was a treasured member of our sanctuary family and her loss hits all of us very hard. We truly appreciate everyone’s support that helped us to do absolutely everything we could do.
One of the hardest things about running a sanctuary is outliving the animals we rescue. Even after 22 years, losing one of the animals never gets easier, they are all members of the family.
Thank you again for being a member of the Forest Animal Rescue family.
I am so sorry to hear this. Loved seeing Timber when we were there. I know you guys love all the animals in your care and how tough it is when you lose them. Thinking about you both at this time!!
We love you Timber ❤. Now you are reunited with your companion. Rest easy girl.
I am so sorry for the loss of Timber. I admire the strength and commitment of staff and volunteers at FAR for never giving up on these amazing animals. Through your posts and stories from my friend Sonya I am sitting in my living room feeling heartbroken for a wolf I met only once but she touched my heart and I will cherish her memory. Thank you for all you do.
I’m so sorry to hear the news. We rallied for her. I’m so sorry.
It is ❤ breaking to hear this but we are comforted knowing the love and care you give to these critters…The loss is tough to take..God speed to all..
Rest in peace
